Rising or Shooting?
Star Tattoo Designs That Says It All!



In recent years, star tattoo designs regained huge popularity. It is extremely sought after, especially amongst females. These designs are very symbolic and it is fairly easy to modify and personalize.

The first star tattoo designs that we are aware of, were nautical stars.

These symbols are usually found on compasses. I don't have to tell you how important a compass is to a sailor. It guides them, gives them direction and always bring them back home.

Sailors believed that a nautical star, especially if tattooed on the upper arm, will always help them find their way home, wherever they are.

I guess this could also have a deeper meaning for us today.

Of course today we have a huge variety of star tattoo designs, varying from nautical images, to shooting stars and the ever popular playful and fantasy designs.

It is believed that a shooting star represents a fleeting moment in your life that you would like to capture. It is often designed with a picture of a loved one, such as a child, that passed on too quickly.

Clusters of stars are also popular designs, and usually symbolizes a playful or fantasy nature. Cluster of stars, especially if they are combined wih fine flowers or a ribbon, are very popular designs to have done on the lower back. They are feminine and nostalgic.

Apparently upcoming Hollywood stars love to get a star tattoo to symbolize where they are going with their careers. I think it is safe to assume that, for obvious reasons, a celebrity would not want a shooting star tattoo!!

In the past, it was kind of a embarresment for celebrities if their tattoos were visible, but today it is a well known fact that celebrities embrace their tattoos.
